About

ASM_Logo3Every year Chris Bower and Robert R Gigliotti start up an photo journaling program at Taft High School through After School Matters. Two programs are run per year for the fall and spring. The fall semester starts the first week of October and the Sprint semester starts the First week of March and run for 10 weeks per semester. We run at a minimum of 25 apprentices and a maximum of 30. You will soon see excerpts from each of the Apprentices blogs updating as new posts arrive at the RSS feeds. The program model is to encourage and mentor young creative writers while learning how to compliment their writings with photography. Apprentices are exposed to an introduction to Photoshop and photo editing techniques. Chris Bower works with the Apprentices to find their creative niche though writing. Robert R Gigliotti works with the Apprentices to take better photos and get the most from the photos they take. For the Spring 2010 semester, Ismael Cuevas is the senior apprentice aiding Chris and Robert on Foldingsheets.com website. He also provides resources that aid the apprentices in elevating their work. Apprentices are always encouraged to express their best work though the medium of digital photography and creative writing and pay attention to the details as the details make all the difference.
