The Apprentices from Fall 2009 had a photography scavenger hunt and an writing assignment to work on while at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. The requirements that each Apprentices were given are below. We chose at least two photos from each Apprentice’s body of work from the Field Trip and a maximum of 3 shots. All photos were turned in after editing in Photoshop CS4 and sized to 600×400 pixels at a resolution of 72dpi. We did group critique on each Apprentices photos as they related to the requirements of the scavenger hunt, composition and subject matter.

(1)A medium shot of an CBG employee at work or in a shot set up by you that describes something about them and their job.
(1) medium shot of a rock garden, get more than just rocks in the shot
(1) medium shot of a plant or flower that resembles something else (kind of like when you find shapes in the clouds)
(1) your best wide shot of someplace in the garden(s) making sure to capture the clouds or blue skies
(1) medium shot of yourself sitting or standing someplace in a garden or around the CBG. This shot should say something about yourself as a person, character or writer for foldingsheets. You’ll have to art Direct with your camera what your vision is to your partner. You should be the focal point and the garden complimenting you.
